1. Introduction: What Gospel Did Jesus Preach?
• Many people today use the word "gospel," but Jesus Himself defined the message He proclaimed. Before we preach anything else, we must
ask:
• What gospel did Jesus preach?
• What gospel did He command His followers to proclaim?
2. The Gospel of the Kingdom (Matthew 24:14)
Jesus said: "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."
Key Points:
• Jesus did not say "a gospel," but "this gospel" - the same one He preached.
• It is a message about God's Kingdom - His rule, His reign, His authority breaking into human life.
• It is a message that must be preached before His return.
What is the Kingdom?
• The Kingdom is God's government, God's way of life, God's righteousness.
• It is both present (in the hearts of believers) and future (when Christ returns to reign).
